Before we were married, my incredibly talented husband gifted me with a hand-drawn creation of our family in the Simpsons universe. He really has an eye for this stuff, no “Simpsonize Me” app needed.

Then we found out we were expecting Babby. When it came time to break the news on social media (a day I was dreading), we couldn’t decide how to spill the beans. Originally we were going to post Steve’s hand-drawn Superman-inspired origin story, but the images weren’t coming out large enough on Facebook (we wound up printing them for in-person announcements). It was then that we decided on a more subtle social media birth announcement, and I updated my cover photo to this:
And if you knew the cats as I know them, you would know that their depiction is 100% accurate and adorable.
